Diclofenac Sodium Tablets are medication under the branding of NURAGESIC. Diclofenac sodium tablets are a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to reduce pain, swelling, and joint stiffness from arthritis. It is available in the form of enteric-coated tablets, immediate-release tablets, capsules, suppositories, injections, and eye drops. Diclofenac can be used to treat mild-to-moderate pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
It is also used to treat actinic keratoses. Diclofenac should not be taken by those with a history of allergic reactions to aspirin or NSAIDs. It can increase the risk of fatal heart attack or stroke if taken long-term or in high doses. The dosage for adults is usually 50 mg orally 2 or 3 times a day. For children aged 6 months and above, the dosage is determined based on their weight. Slow-release diclofenac tablets or capsules may be recommended for those with chronic pain.
